PRESS RELEASE: ICON To Foster Next-Gen Blockchain Specialists in a Seoul School of Science

ICON is focusing on grooming next generation blockchain specialists through education and training. For this purpose, it has been granted to operate an official program at a Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies (aSSIST) for the Digital Strategy MBA course. The official name of the fresh education program is known as “The Dapp Planning and Development practice using ICON.”

Leveraging Blockchain

ICON’s teaming up with the renowned professional business school providing masters, as well as, Ph.D. degrees in business administration assumed significance due to the emergence of blockchain technology. The company will coordinate with the institution to make the program focus on not only operations but also on distributed ledger technology’s (DLT) applications. This will allow real-world workers to power DLT as groundwork for both startups and fresh business initiatives.

The latest move is a follow up to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on May 10 by ICONLOOP with aSSIST. The blockchain education alliance MOU enables the ICON team to educate trainees besides encouraging the DLT specialists for the next generation. The company expressed the confidence that the students would have a better understanding of the blockchain technology when they leave the course.

Business Model

This would mean that they could translate their gained knowledge into a business model. ICON disclosed that the course would be included in the fourth semester commencing from January next year. The course will have a two-week long period consuming a total of 24 hours of material enabling the students to get credit points of 1.5. ICON council member, Hoon Lee, will deal the subject of fundamentals apart from case studies involving blockchain applications in the practical world.

The council member said ,

“Cultivating blockchain experts through education is a prerequisite for blockchain mass adoption. ICON will foster students’ abilities in designing blockchain and crypto economy models with customized lectures to pioneer new businesses based on ICON’s platform.”

Interestingly, over 50 percent of the Digital Strategy MBA program has focused on not only blockchain but also on token economies and digital coins .
