Today one of the worlds major browser Opera introduced its browser with integrated Crypto Wallet becoming the first among its competitors to integrate its own crypto wallet, enabling seamless access to the emerging web of tomorrow (Web 3).

The new version of the Opera browser, currently available in a private beta on Android, combines easy-to-use crypto wallet functionality with support for Ethereum decentralized apps, or Dapps. This means users can now interact with Web 3.0 using popular and fully-featured Opera mobile browser.

What is ‘Web 3’ and What Does It Enable?

Web 3 is an umbrella term for a set of emerging technologies intersecting cryptocurrencies, blockchains and distributed systems that, together, extend the capabilities of the web we all use today in important and meaningful ways.

Crypto Payments

Pay with cryptocurrencies directly from your wallet. Opera now supports online payments with cryptocurrency where merchants support exists and enable to send money from wallet to wallet and interact with Dapps.

Hold your crypto tokens and collectibles

Opera’s wallet will automatically detect and show ERC20 compliant tokens, which some Dapps may use, as an in-game currency for example. Opera will also show any crypto collectibles you may have (ERC721), sometimes referred to as NFTs. Click on them to see them in full screen, you can also send them directly from your wallet.

The Opera wallet keeps a high level of security and gives you full control of your funds and collectible keys as they are all stored on your smartphone. The wallet also uses Android’s secure system lock, which makes transactions on the blockchain easier as you don’t require any additional PIN codes or passwords.

How does Opera Browser Help to Drive Crypto Adoption?

Why should we say this? Actually, this is because of the number of users Opera currently has. There are over 100 000 000+ Opera browser users on Android ONLY. All these users have to update the latest version of Opera browser which is, of course, a cryptocurrency version.

Imagine how many people will decide to know more about this new feature and become their own bank inspired by their browser? We can only guess the numbers, but a little step to mainstream adoption is really happening right now.
