A Germany-based company (name undisclosed) which operates in cryptocurrency trading services was stolen Bitcoins worth around €180,000 euros (over $204 000 US Dollars) by its own employee.

After extensive investigations, it was possible to identify a suspect, said the central office Cybercrime Bavaria and the Munich police on Thursday.

Used Several Wallets

Accordingly, a 30-year-old system administrator is suspected. To blur the trail to himself, he has transferred the sum to his own wallet and then to the even more separate transactions to other cryptocurrency wallets. He also used a hidden IP address to avoid his computer of being identified. However, the 30-year-old employee confessed and now has to face justice.

The 30-year-old employee was arrested before Christmas. He admitted the allegations in his interrogation and confirmed he is aware where the stolen Bitcoins are.

To protect the ongoing investigation, the successful revelations could only now be made public.
